My favourite shaken iced mocha is the perfect blend of bold coffee and rich cocoa, shaken with ice and creamy milk to create a refreshing and indulgent treat. The robust coffee flavor, mellowed by the sweetness of chocolate, offers the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. I love how the vigorous shaking creates a frothy texture that makes each sip smooth and satisfying. It’s my go-to pick-me-up, combining the energizing kick of coffee with the decadent pleasure of chocolate.

INGREDIENTS USED IN SHAKEN ICED MOCHA
COFFEE
The use of coffee in a shaken iced mocha is to provide the primary flavor and caffeine content. The coffee’s rich, robust taste balances the sweetness of the chocolate syrup and blends with the milk, creating a refreshing and invigorating iced beverage. I use Nescafe coffee to make this recipe but you can use any.
COCOA POWDER
In an iced mocha, cocoa powder is used to provide a rich, deep chocolate flavor. It combines with the coffee to create a balanced, chocolaty taste that complements the bitterness of the espresso or brewed coffee. Additionally, cocoa powder helps to thicken the drink slightly, contributing to a smoother and creamier texture when shaken with ice and milk. Hersheys cocoa powder is used for this recipe.
SUGAR
Sugar is used in a shaken iced mocha to enhance the sweetness and balance the bitterness of the coffee and the cocoa powder. It ensures that the drink has a pleasant, sweet flavour, making it more enjoyable and palatable. I have used this sugar.
WHIPPING CREAM
Whipping cream in a shaken iced mocha is used to add richness and creaminess to the drink. It enhances the texture, making it smoother and more indulgent. Additionally, a dollop of whipped cream on top can serve as a decorative garnish, adding a touch of luxury and extra flavor to the beverage.
MILK
Milk is used in a shaken iced mocha to add creaminess and balance to the drink. It smooths out the strong flavors of the coffee and cocoa, creating a more harmonious and enjoyable beverage. The milk also helps to create a frothy texture when shaken with ice, making the drink more refreshing and visually appealing. I use Nestle milk for my recipes.
