INGREDIENTS USED IN STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE FRENCH TOAST

  • BREAD

In Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast, the choice of bread is essential for creating the perfect balance of textures and flavors. The bread acts as the vessel for the rich, creamy cheesecake filling, absorbing the custard mixture while maintaining enough structure to hold up during cooking.

  • CREAM CHEESE

Cream cheese plays a pivotal role in Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast, providing a rich, smooth, and slightly tangy filling that mirrors the flavors of a traditional cheesecake. Its creamy texture adds a luscious, velvety element to the dish, making every bite feel indulgent. When mixed with fresh chopped strawberries, the cream cheese becomes a perfect base that carries the fruit’s natural sweetness and balances it with just the right amount of tanginess. The richness of the cream cheese helps to create a moist, flavorful filling that contrasts beautifully with the crispy French toast exterior. Whether it’s mixed directly with fresh strawberries or swirled into a sweet strawberry compote, cream cheese is essential for bringing together that cheesecake-inspired flavor, transforming the dish into a comforting, decadent breakfast treat.

  • STRAWBERRY COMPOTE

When compote is added directly into the filling for French Toast, it takes the flavor and texture to another level. The compote, which is typically made by simmering fresh strawberries with sugar until they break down into a thick, syrupy mixture, adds a burst of sweet, slightly tart strawberry flavor right into the cream cheese filling. This infusion of compote creates a more intense strawberry flavor and a delightful contrast between the creamy texture of the cream cheese and the juicy, syrupy bits of strawberries.
  • MILK

n Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast, milk plays a crucial role in the eggless soak mixture, providing the necessary moisture and creaminess for the bread. As the bread absorbs the milk, it becomes soft and tender on the inside while achieving a golden, crispy exterior when cooked. The milk helps create a custard-like texture that binds the bread together, giving it a rich, indulgent feel without the need for eggs.

  • CUSTARD POWDER

When you mix custard powder with milk, it helps achieve the soft, velvety texture that you’d normally get from an egg-based custard, allowing the bread to absorb the mixture without becoming soggy. It also adds a subtle, sweet flavor that enhances the overall creaminess of the French toast. The custard powder’s smooth consistency works perfectly in this dish, making each slice tender on the inside, with a crisp, golden exterior.

TIPS TO MAKE STRAWBERRY  CHEESECAKE FRENCH TOAST

  1. Give your bread slices enough time to soak in the custard mixture (made with milk, custard powder, vanilla, and a sweetener). But don’t let them sit too long, or they might get too soggy. About 30 seconds on each side is usually perfect for soaking up just enough of the custard without losing its structure.
  2. When making the strawberry compote, let it cook down slowly over medium heat to concentrate the flavors. You can add a touch of lemon juice or vanilla extract to brighten the compote, and a pinch of cinnamon can complement the strawberries beautifully. Make sure to cool the compote slightly before adding it to the filling, so it doesn’t melt the cream cheese.
  3. To achieve the perfect crispiness on the outside without burning the bread, cook the French toast on medium heat. This allows the inside to cook through and become soft, while the outside turns golden-brown and crispy.
  4. When filling the French toast with the cream cheese and strawberry mixture, avoid overstuffing. You want just enough filling to keep it rich and creamy without making the toast too difficult to flip or resulting in spillage.
  5. For an extra fresh, juicy burst, top your French toast with freshly sliced strawberries along with the strawberry compote. This will add a refreshing contrast to the creamy filling and bring out the natural sweetness of the fruit.
  6. To prevent the French toast from sticking, use a non-stick skillet or griddle, and make sure it’s well-greased with butter or oil before cooking. This ensures the toast cooks evenly and comes out crisp, not stuck to the pan.
