  • PEANUT BUTTER

Peanut butter serves as the delicious filling in peanut butter cups. It’s a key ingredient that adds a creamy, nutty flavor and texture to the treat. It is typically sweetened to create a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness, complementing the chocolate shell beautifully. With its smooth consistency, peanut butter creates a luscious center that enhances the overall indulgent experience of peanut butter cups.

  • POWDERED SUGAR

Powdered sugar is often used in the filling of peanut butter cups to sweeten and thicken the peanut butter mixture. It helps achieve the desired texture and sweetness, creating a smooth and creamy filling that contrasts perfectly with the chocolate shell. Additionally, powdered sugar dissolves more easily than granulated sugar, ensuring a smooth consistency in the peanut butter filling without any grittiness.

  • DARK CHOCOLATE 

Using dark chocolate in peanut butter cups offers a rich and intense flavor profile compared to milk chocolate. Dark chocolate contains a higher percentage of cocoa solids, which contributes to its bolder taste and slightly bitter undertones. EQUIPMENT USED IN MAKING 3-INGREDIENT PEANUT BUTTER CUPS

A few kitchen staples that I always use in the kitchen are mentioned below-

Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoons are the first thing that anybody who in cooking or baking needs. The right quantities will help in the desired outcome so these two things are a must.

Few cupcake liners are necessary to assemble the peanut butter cups.

You also need mixing bowls to combine the filling and melt chocolate.

TIPS TO MAKE 3-INGREDIENT PEANUT BUTTER CUPS

  1. Use high-quality chocolate and natural peanut butter without added sugars or oils for the best flavor.
  2. Line a muffin tin with paper or silicone cupcake liners for easy removal of the peanut butter cups.
  3.  Add a thin layer of melted chocolate to the bottom of each liner and allow it to set slightly before adding the peanut butter filling. This prevents the peanut butter from seeping through to the bottom.
  4. Chill the peanut butter filling for a short while before adding it to the chocolate cups. This makes it easier to work with and prevents it from melting too quickly.
  5. Cover the peanut butter filling with another layer of melted chocolate, ensuring it completely covers the peanut butter to seal the cups.
  6.  Gently tap the muffin tin on the counter to remove any air bubbles trapped in the chocolate layers.
3-INGREDIENT PEANUT BUTTER CUPS

Ingredients
  • 1 cup natural creamy unsweetened peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups dark chocolate
Instructions
  1. Line a cupcake tray with paper liners. This recipes makes 6 peanut butter cups.
  2. ⁠In a mixing bowl, beat together the peanut butter and powdered sugar until well combined. The consistency will be thick ,like dough. Set aside.
  3. ⁠Melt the chocolate on double boiler. Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl and place it over a saucepan with simmering water. Alternatively, melt it in microwave giving it a good mix after 30 seconds intervals.
  4. ⁠Using a spoon, pour melted chocolate on the base of each liner.
  5. ⁠Once the bottom layer is set, take about 1 tablespoon peanut butter mixture and form a ball that is smaller than the mould.
  6. ⁠Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer till it is evenly spread on the top.
  7. ⁠Let these cups refrigerate for 5-10 minutes until set.
