INGREDIENTS USED IN FESTIVE CHURRO BITES

  • ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

The flour binds the ingredients, allowing the churros to hold their shape during frying, while still absorbing the rich flavors of saffron and cardamom. This fusion of flour with traditional  ingredients creates a crispy shell with a soft, flavorful center—capturing the essence of both worlds in one delicious bite.

  • WATER

Water plays an essential role in Churro bites, helping to bring the dough together and achieve the right consistency. Additionally, it helps dissolve the saffron and cardamom, allowing their flavors to blend smoothly into the dough. During frying, the water evaporates, contributing to the churros’ crispy exterior while keeping the inside soft.

  • GHEE

Ghee replaces traditional butter with aromatic Indian fat, introducing a rich, traditional flavor profile right into the heart of the dough.

  • CARDAMOM

Cardamom gives its signature warm, sweet-spicy aroma that’s essential to the flavor profile. In this fusion, ground cardamom is mixed into the dough, allowing its bold, fragrant notes to permeate each churro bite.

  • SAFFRON

Kesar (saffron) adds a luxurious and aromatic touch to the Churro bites, elevating the fusion dessert with its vibrant color and delicate floral flavor. Infused into the dough or the syrup, saffron lends a golden hue that enhances the visual appeal, reminiscent of the rich saffron syrup in traditional gulab jamun. As the churros fry, the saffron releases its subtle yet distinctive essence, weaving its way into every crispy bite.

  • ROSE WATER

Rose water adds a delicate, floral sweetness to the Churro bites, enhancing the dessert with a soft, fragrant undertone that’s a hallmark of traditional Indian sweets. In this fusion, rose water can be incorporated into the dough or drizzled into the syrup that the churros are served with, infusing each bite with its unmistakable aroma. Its subtle floral essence balances the warmth of cardamom and saffron, creating a harmonious blend of flavours.

EQUIPMENT USED FOR MAKING FESTIVE CHURRO BITES

A correct proportion of all the ingredients will guarantee the best taste, so you will need measuring spoons and measuring cupsto measure quantities of water, sugar, butter, flour, etc.

You will need a saucepan to bring the batter together.

An induction or gas stove will obviously be required as well.

A few other things that are required for making the Churro Bites are a wooden spoon, piping bag, star nozzle and a pair of scissors.

TIPS TO MAKE FESTIVE CHURRO BITES

  1. Churro dough is dense. Use a thick, cloth or heavy-duty plastic piping bag coupled with a sturdy metal star nozzle so the bag doesn’t burst under pressure.
  2. Drop a tiny piece of dough into the oil, if it sizzles and rises to the top steadily without browning instantly, your temperature is spot on. If it burns immediately, the oil is too hot.
  3. Don’t Skip the Flour Drying Step: Cooking the flour and liquid mixture for 2–3 minutes on the pan is critical. It cooks out the raw flour taste and evaporates excess moisture so your dough isn’t too wet to pipe.
  4. The rabdi will take a lot of time to cook but be patient and don’t heat on high or else the milk might burn.
