The first time I made them, I was amazed at how easy they were to prepare . With just a few simple ingredients and a food processor, I could whip up a batch in no time.
One of the things I love most about quinoa bliss balls is their nutritional value. Quinoa, often hailed as a superfood, is packed with protein, fiber, and essential nutrients. Combined with nuts and oats, these bliss balls provide a satisfying crunch and a dose of healthy fats. Plus, by using natural sweeteners like dates, they satisfy my sweet tooth without any added sugars or artificial ingredients.

INGREDIENTS USED IN MAKING QUINOA BLISS BALLS
DATES
Dates serve as the primary sweetening agent in this recipe. They are a natural source of sweetness and are packed with essential nutrients such as fibre, vitamins, and minerals. They not only provide a delicious caramel-like flavour but also help bind the mixture together.
OATS
Oats are full of fiber and protein and even a small quantity can fill up your stomach nicely. They soak in a lot of liquid and, hence, are full of flavour when combined with the right ingredients. I have used rolled oats but you can use any, that you like. Oats act as a natural binder in the laddoo mixture. They help hold the ingredients together, ensuring that the bliss balls maintain their shape.
ALMONDS
The assortment of dry fruits, i have used almonds. You can use and replace dry fruits of your choice. It adds a variety of flavours, textures, and nutrients to the bliss bites.
COCOA POWDER
Cocoa powder is used to add a rich chocolate flavor to the bliss bites. It contributes a delightful bitterness and enhances the overall taste.
QUINOA
Quinoa plays a starring role in quinoa bliss balls, contributing both nutritional benefits and a unique texture to these delightful treats. Quinoa is rich in dietary fiber, which supports digestive health and helps to keep you feeling full and satisfied.
Texturally, the washed and roasted quinoa lends a delightful crunchiness to the bliss balls, creating a contrast to the soft, chewy texture of the other ingredients. This crunch adds dimension to each bite, making the bliss balls more interesting and satisfying to eat.
EQUIPMENT YOU NEED FOR THE QUINOA BLISS BALLS
To mix and blend everything nicely, you’ll need a good-quality mixer or grinder. I have used the Morphy Richards blender to blend everything perfectly.
Measuring cups and measuring spoons. are an integral part of any baker’s kitchen, and it’s very important to measure ingredients with precision.
A good quality pan will be needed to roast the quinoa. I have used stahl non stick pan.
TIPS TO MAKE QUINOA BLISS BALLS
1. Soak the deseeded dates in hot water for a minimum of 15 minutes to ensure they blend into a smooth paste later.
2. Mix Thoroughly: Use a spatula or your hands to mix everything. Ensure that the cocoa powder is evenly distributed, and the mixture starts to come together.
3. You’ll use your palms or hands to shape the mixture into the ice tray. Ensure your hands are clean and slightly greased with ghee to prevent sticking.
4. To mix and blend everything nicely you’ll need a good quality mixer or grinder.
OTHER RELATED RECIPES FROM THE BLOG
- ½ cup quinoa
- 20 dates
- ½ cup almond
- ½ cup oats
- 3tbsp cocoa powder
- 4-6 tbsp dates water
- Rinse the quinoa 2-3 times with clean water and soak in water for 30 minutes. Sieve and pat dry the quinoa after 30 mins.
- Take the rinsed and soaked quinoa in a non stick pan set over medium heat and toast until slightly brown and fragrant. Let it cool.
- De-seed 20 dates and soak them in ¾ cup boiling water for 15 minutes.
- In a blender jar, add the soaked dates, almonds, oats, cocoa powder and some of the reserved dates water. Blend till everything is nicely combined. It should resemble a rough dough. Feel free to add more water if the mixture is not cohesive at this stage.
- Transfer the dates mixture in a bowl and add the toasted quinoa over it. Combine well using your hands.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each portion into a small ball by rolling it in between your palms.
