There are some recipes that just feel like a hug, and then there are some that feel like a whole celebration in a glass, this one is definitely the second.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know my love for a good, thick, indulgent cup of hot chocolate is non-negotiable. So when I launched my new Hot Chocolate Premix, I knew it was going to be special. And it is.
We decided to give it a little summer twist and turned it into the most dreamy Strawberry Iced Chocolate ,think rich, velvety chocolate meets fresh, sweet-tart strawberries, served cold, creamy, and absolutely irresistible.

INGREDIENTS USED IN STRAWBERRY ICED CHOCOLATE
Shivesh’s Hot Chocolate Premix
This is what makes all the difference. Three tablespoons is all you need for that intensely rich, thick, and glossy chocolate base. Because this premix is made with real chocolate and good-quality cocoa, it gives you that deep, cafe-style chocolate flavour without any of the artificial sweetness that market mixes have. It’s our shortcut to luxury.
Milk
This is for making our thick, hot chocolate concentrate. We are using a smaller amount of milk here intentionally so the chocolate becomes extra velvety and rich, almost like a ganache. This concentrated base is what will give our iced chocolate its body and not taste watered down.
Fresh/Frozen Strawberries
Strawberries bring that beautiful colour, sweet-tart punch, and that summery aroma that cuts through the richness of the chocolate. Always use fresh, ripe, and sweet strawberries for this it makes the drink naturally pink and flavourful. If your berries are a little tart, don’t worry, that’s where our next ingredient comes in.
Sugar
Just one tablespoon to macerate our strawberries. This isn’t to make it overly sweet, but to help the strawberries release their natural juices, soften up, and intensify their flavour. It balances the tanginess of the berries and helps it blend beautifully with the dark chocolate.
Water
This tiny amount of water is the unsung hero. When we cook the strawberries with sugar, this little splash of water prevents the sugar from burning and helps the strawberries break down into a soft, jammy compote. It creates that perfect, spoonable strawberry layer at the bottom of our glass.

TIPS TO MAKE STRAWBERRY ICED CHOCOLATE
- Don’t boil, just whisk. When mixing the premix with milk, heat it on low-medium and whisk continuously. You want it smooth, thick and glossy — not a rolling boil. Boiling will make it grainy.
- That sugar + water trick cook the strawberries for just 2-3 mins till soft and jammy. This intensifies the flavour 10x compared to just blending raw berries. Let this compote cool COMPLETELY before layering.
- Layering is everything. Spoon the strawberry compote first at the bottom. Then add lots of ice cubes. Then slowly pour the milk. Finally, pour the thick chocolate very slowly. Don’t stir ,that beautiful pink & brown swirl is the magic.
- Use a tall, clear glass. This drink is all about the visual. A tall glass shows off the strawberry pink and chocolate brown layers perfectly.
- 3 tbsp Hot chocolate premix

- 5 + ½ tbsp milk (for layering)
