INGREDIENTS USED IN LOTUS BISCOFF MCFLURRY AT HOME
Whipping cream
Whipping cream is the primary ingredient that forms the base of the McFlurry. When beaten, whipping cream increases in volume and becomes stable, holding air within the mixture. This gives the McFlurry its fluffy and voluminous consistency. The air incorporated into the cream helps achieve the soft, ice-cream-like texture that is characteristic of a McFlurry.
Condensed milk
Condensed milk is very sweet, providing the primary source of sweetness for the Biscoff McFlurry. Condensed milk adds to the creamy, smooth texture of the McFlurry. Its thick, syrupy consistency helps create a rich and velvety mouthfeel that complements the lightness of the whipped cream. In frozen desserts, condensed milk helps prevent the mixture from becoming too hard or icy. It contributes to a softer, more scoopable texture even after being frozen, making the McFlurry more enjoyable to eat straight from the freezer.
Biscoff biscuits and Biscoff spread
Biscoff biscuits and spread are essential in this recipe for their unique flavour, which adds depth and complexity. When crushed and mixed into the McFlurry, Biscoff biscuits add a delightful crunch. The specks of biscuit throughout the creamy mixture make the dessert look more appealing and appetizing.
Biscoff spread is a creamy version of the biscuits, with the same caramelized, spiced flavour. Drizzling the spread over the McFlurry infuses the dessert with rich, indulgent notes that complement the biscuits and creamy base perfectly.
Vanilla extract
Vanilla extract adds a subtle, sweet, and aromatic flavour to the whipped cream base. Vanilla extract acts as a flavour enhancer, bringing out the best in the other ingredients. It works particularly well with the spiced, caramel notes of the Biscoff biscuits and spread, ensuring that these flavours shine without being overpowering.

TIPS TO MAKE THIS LOTUS BISCOFF MCFLURRY AT HOME
- Place your mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes before you start. This helps the cream whip up more quickly and achieve better volume.
- Mix the condensed milk into the whipped cream gently to maintain the airiness of the mixture.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid to prevent ice crystals from forming on the surface, which can affect the texture.
- Slightly warm the Biscoff spread in the microwave for a few seconds to make it more pourable. This makes it easier to drizzle and mix into the cream.
- Feel free to add other ingredients like chocolate chips, caramel sauce, or different cookie crumbs for variation.
